Brad Blankenship: President and CEO

Prior to joining Varidigm, Brad spent over 20 years in various Honeywell businesses in the HVAC and Controls arena. Brad’s past positions include Vice President and General Manager of the Commercial Sensing (MicroSwitch) unit, Vice President of Global Marketing for the Components Group, Director of Marketing for the Residential Controls Unit, and General Manager of Communication Components and Systems (part of Honeywell’s Technology Strategy Center).

Brad’s responsibilities included the development of advanced platforms for HVAC and motor controls, as well as development, engineering, manufacturing and sale of more traditional control systems, such as relays, contactors, switches and sensors. These products were sold in to the high volume HVAC, appliance, automotive and computer/telecommunications markets. Brad holds one patent.

Since leaving Honeywell in 1991, Brad has been involved with start-up and early stage electronics companies, serving as CEO of Visionics Corporation, President of TriSen Systems and operating as a management consultant and investor with other firms. He graduated from the Business School at Indiana University and did graduate work at Michigan in Global Management.

Denny Gambiana: Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Denny has over 30 years of finance and management experience in the HVAC industry. He has a broad background in finance, operations, marketing and sales.

Denny spent half of his career in finance. He has held several controller and numerous other financial management positions for the Residential Division of Honeywell. In operations management, Denny was responsible for successfully establishing the retail business for Honeywell. In that capacity, he managed factory operations, as well as the warehouse and distribution functions. Denny successfully introduced several new products including a complete line of thermostats to the retail channel and a family of whole-house humidifiers into the HVAC industry. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiations, and various legal matters such as the successful prosecution of patent infringement cases.

Much of Denny’s operational experience is in taking a start-up operation and developing it into successful, profitable business. In addition to his financial duties, Denny acts as the chief operating officer for Varidigm playing an active role in sales, marketing, and production as well as handling the project management of engineering. He holds one patent. He has a BS degree in accounting from Drake University and did post-graduate MBA work at California State College.

Dennis Maiello, New Products & Technology Director

Dennis has over 25 years experience in the HVAC industry.  Dennis worked directly with the original GRI development team to design the first residential modulating gas furnace in the industry while at Rheem Manufacturing.  He has also designed heating and cooling equipment for other industry leaders such as Lennox, Amana, and Hart & Cooley.  Dennis has direct experience in HVAC equipment from concept to design to manufacturing, and expertise extending to installation and service issues faced in the field. 

Dennis’s broad background includes new product design, product development processes, quality systems, domestic and off-shore product sourcing and factory selection.  His industry contributions have included leadership roles in engineering, quality, reliability, manufacturing and marketing.  Dennis brings significant modulation expertise to the Varidigm team and is responsible for new product definition, manages new customer rollout, and serves as the company representative on technical industry matters (AHRI).  He has a mechanical and aerospace engineering degree from Oklahoma State University.

Tim England, Director of Sales and Marketing

Tim has over 30 years of sales, sales management and marketing experience analyzing markets, developing strategies and executing tactics that have generated significant new business with industry leaders in Commercial, OEM, Wholesale and Retail channels of distribution.

Tim began his HVAC career with Honeywell selling to Dealers, Wholesalers and OEMs. He pioneered an effort to strengthen direct ties to Residential Dealers resulting in a surge of revenue and profit from discretionary products.

As a Regional Sales Manager for Honeywell’s Retail Group, Tim penetrated 8 of the 10 largest Big Box Retailers in the U.S., including Home Depot and Lowes.  He was assigned responsibility for Honeywell’s Retail Sales & Marketing in Canada and delivered record increases in revenue and profit.

Tim developed and executed the Sales & Marketing strategy resulting in Varidigm’s successful commercialization of its modulating control solution.

Tim’s ability to analyze new market opportunities, identify constraining speed-to-market issues, develop cost-effective strategies and help customers achieve their objectives has consistently resulted in strong sales growth.

He holds a BA degree in Finance from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas.
