Modulating Combustion Controls

Varidigm products are custom engineered for OEMs.  Generally, Varidigm gas combustion platforms offer these basic attributes:

• Provide independent, closed loop sensing and control of combustion air and gas to Maximize Efficiency and Maximize Turndown
• Integrate the control of gas system components
• Manage all safeties, timing, ignition, sequencing and diagnostics of controlled components
• Sense conditions and automatically adjust to changes in altitude

In addition to our basic product attributes, Varidigm has delivered the following options:

• Variable speed control of ECM and PSC circulator/blower motors
• Control of A/C compressor
• Direct Spark Ignition
• Hot Surface Ignition
• Modulating control based on input from:
  • Standard, single stage thermostat

Variable Speed Motor Controller

The Varidigm Variable Speed Motor Controller responds to two different inputs.  An analog input provides a pressure setpoint signal while a pressure sensor provides pressure feedback to the controller.  The controller responds by controlling a pressure by varying the speed of a Permanent Split Capacitor (PSC) motor in response to an analog (0–10 Volt DC or  4 – 20 maDC) signal from the building automation system or other source (i.e. remote pot, on-board pot, or infrared remote signal).
